Member Description
Connected Dots Media is a full service book and content packager specializing in "living" topics including cooking, art, DIY, craft, gardening, kids' projects, and other subjects that may not fit neatly in any category. Past projects have included how-to make books on snowmen, sandcastles, and pet houses as well as custom project for museums, restaurants, and specialty retailers. Clients have included babyGap, the San Francisco Arts Commission, Copper's Hawk Winery, Miette Patisserie, and The Model Bakery. In addition to custom publishing, CDM has collaborated with many trade houses including Chronicle Books, Heyday Books, Accord Books, and Running Press, among others.

CDM founder Leslie Jonath has over 20 years of experience in book publishing, creative services, and media business development. From 1991 to 2009, she was an integral part of the editorial and development team at Chronicle Books. As a Senior Editor in the food, lifestyle, and custom publishing categories, she acquired, produced, edited and project-managed over 250 books across a variety of categories, including food, pop culture, crafts, lifestyle, art, architecture, memoir, and children's projects. She also created a cause-related publishing model for non-profit organizations, creating books like From Our House to Yours to benefit Meals on Wheels of San Francisco and Soup's On for Next Course (job and life skills training for incarcerated women). Leslie was also head of Creative Services, where she conceptualized, produced and developed innovative "beyond the book" services for custom clients, including videos and other digital projects.
Leslie left Chronicle Books in 2009 to found Connected Dots Media. She lives and works in San Francisco.
