We’re pleased to invite you to The Ultimate Insider’s Take on Publishing, a Zoom Industry Insider event on Thursday, September 28th. Come hear special guest Jim Milliot, editorial director of Publishers Weekly, as he provides an insider’s perspective on the evolving state of the industry and also reflects on the many changes he’s observed and written about throughout his 30+ year tenure at the magazine. This is an event you definitely won’t want to miss!

Bring your questions and be prepared to hear Jim’s perspective about:

  • the highs and lows of publishing
  • trends to watch for
  • break-out/new publishers and imprints
  • acquisitions
  • the opportunities and risks of AI

This informative event will be moderated by ABPA board member, Chris Navratil.

About the Speaker

Jim Milliot has been editorial director of Publishers Weekly since 2014. Jim joined PW in 1993 as business and news editor and, after serving in several different capacities, was named co-editorial director with Michael Coffey in 2010. After Coffey’s retirement, Jim was appointed sole editorial director. Jim, who has been with the magazine since 1993, will retire at the end of the year and become editor-at-large.

Jim was executive editor at Simba Information before joining PW. He served on the statistics committee of the Book Industry Study Group and was named the winner of the organization’s Sally Dedecker Lifetime Achievement Award this spring. He also served as a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association board for four years and is a regular contributor to various industry publications.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
